Are project deadlines creeping up? Are main contractors or clients pushing for RIBA Stage 4 designs yesterday? Is your in-house engineering team stretched to the limit?
Relax, we’ve got this. We are Chase Estimating, and when it comes to Mechanical Design, we will do the heavy lifting so you don’t have to.
We offer a completely hands-off, fully managed design service. With decades of combined experience in the UK building services sector, we provide the technical edge you need to deliver compliant, clash-free, and cost-effective installations.
- Public Health & Above Ground Drainage Design
- LTHW Heating & Chilled Water Systems
- Ventilation & Heat Recovery (MVHR/AHU) Design
- Air Conditioning (VRF/VRV/Split) Systems
- Renewable Energy Solutions
- Plant Room Layouts & Spatial Coordination
We exist to make your life easier and save your business the hefty overheads associated with running a full-time, in-house design department. It really is that simple.
We partner with M&E contractors and consultants to help you:
- DELIVER FULLY COMPLIANT DESIGNS (MEETING CURRENT UK BUILDING REGS & CIBSE GUIDELINES)
- TURN PROJECTS AROUND IN LESS TIME
- REDUCE YOUR OVERHEADS
- USE US AS AN EXTENSION OF YOUR TEAM, EXACTLY WHEN YOU NEED US
Plus, each invoice paid safeguards 5 trees via One Tribe at no extra cost to you. Feel proud knowing your projects are helping to create jobs, preserve habitats for endangered species, and protect the rainforest.
You send over your project brief, architect’s plans, or tender package. We thoroughly review the specifications, site constraints, and thermal requirements.
We’ll then provide a transparent, fixed-fee quote to complete the design on your behalf, complete with a crystal-clear scope of deliverables.
Once you give us the green light, our engineers get to work. We produce detailed, constructible designs, heat loss/gain calculations, equipment schedules, and schematic drawings.
We focus on energy efficiency and practicality, ensuring the system actually works on-site—not just on paper.
Following our rigorous internal quality checks, we issue the design package well before your deadline. You can then submit it to your client or Building Control with absolute confidence.
And we don’t just walk away; Chase Estimating is here to support you with queries and tweaks right through to successful project handover.
Chase Estimating stepped in when our internal design team was overwhelmed. The RIBA Stage 4 drawings were spot on and fully compliant. Brilliant service from start to finish.
Samuel and the team took the stress right out of our hands. Their heat loss calculations and Revit models were first-class. Highly recommend them to anyone needing solid mechanical design.
Absolute lifesavers. We had a tight deadline for a commercial office fit-out, and their HVAC design was turned around in days, fully CIBSE compliant. Top job.
Having a reliable partner to handle the public health and drainage design has freed us up to focus on winning more work. Excellent communication throughout the whole process.
- Autodesk Revit (BIM Coordination) & AutoCAD for 2D/3D modelling.
- Hevacomp / Cymap / IES for accurate thermal modelling and CIBSE-compliant load calculations.
- Detailed pipework and ductwork sizing and pressure drop calculations.
- Comprehensive equipment schedules for pumps, valves, emitters, and plant.
- Part L compliance checks and energy performance modelling.
In the UK building services sector, compliance isn’t just a box-ticking exercise; it’s the backbone of a safe, efficient, and successful project. Our engineers are meticulously trained to design in strict adherence to the latest British Standards, CIBSE guides, and Building Regulations.

EXPERIENCE
Our team has a combined experience of over 75 years in M&E building services design. There’s not much we haven’t seen or done previously.
Let Us Help You Grow Your Business and Focus On What Really Matters
Our team of engineers are highly skilled in producing mechanical designs using industry-leading BIM and CAD software to quickly generate detailed, constructible drawings and calculations.
Cut costs without cutting corners. Our outsourced mechanical design service saves you the overheads of an in-house team, providing an efficient way to get compliant engineering solutions for any project.
We’ve partnered with One Tribe, so for every invoice paid we’ll protect 5 trees. Your design order helps reduce the impact of climate change whilst offsetting the carbon footprint associated with your project.
Offering a reliable and exceptional experience for our clients is paramount. We ensure your design projects are completed on time, within your commercial budget, and to the highest British engineering standards.
We understand every building is unique. We take the time to listen to your specific project requirements and offer you a transparent, fixed-fee, no-obligation quote for your design work.
Despite being committed to delivering a rapid turnaround, we never let this compromise the quality, compliance, and pinpoint accuracy of our design calculations and drawings.

As a minimum, you will receive fully coordinated 2D/3D CAD drawings, comprehensive heat loss and cooling load calculations, equipment schedules, and a detailed technical specification. We ensure you have everything needed to procure materials and install the systems without any nasty surprises.
All our designs are engineered in strict accordance with CIBSE guidelines, British Standards (BS), and the latest UK Building Regulations (including the updated Parts L, F, and O).
It depends on the complexity and the required RIBA stage. However, we know how fast-paced the UK construction industry is. Small bespoke jobs can often be turned around in a few working days, while larger commercial projects may take a week or two. We will never take on a job if we can’t meet your deadline.
Absolutely. Every building is unique. We don’t do “copy and paste” engineering. Your design will be specifically tailored to the building’s fabric, orientation, and your preferred installation methods.
We quote every project on a fixed-fee, lump-sum basis. This means you know exactly what you will be billed before we even draw a single line. It allows you to build our design fees directly into your tender prelims with zero financial risk.
Of course—this is what sets us apart. If you or your site engineers need support during the installation phase, or if the architect makes variations that require design tweaks, we are just a phone call away.
